This 10 minute film shows just how insane Fashion Week has become

Garage Magazine has put together a short, 10-minute documentary that chronicles the recent explosion in street photography, built off the back of style blogs. Through interviews with established photographers, designers, and style bloggers, they track how the industry has shifted away from the catwalks, and how the last few years has seen mobs of amateur and semi-pro photographers descend on New York during fashion week — and people dressing for that attention.

According to their subjects, vast hordes of photographers follow the stylishly dressed around, swarming like paparazzi in an attempt to grab a great photograph for their website. This stands in stark contrast to previous years, where numbers were more manageable. It's hard to watch this video, and not come away feeling more than a little creeped out by just how many photographers there seemed to be.

That's why you don't leave your camera alone for hours to record a time lapse

Capturing one of those gorgeous time lapse videos of the night sky takes hours. So, what do you do while you're waiting for all those exposures to happen? Do you sit in the cold night air, twiddling your thumbs? Or do you leave your cameras, and retreat for warmer climes? Swiss photographer Alessandro Della Bella took the latter approach while recording the Perseids meteor shower in August — and while he was away, one of his cameras captured its own thief.

Della Bella set up three cameras to record the meteor shower, and then went to a birthday party. Returning a few hours later, to find that one of his cameras had been stolen. Thankfully, the thief took to showing off his ill-gotten gains that same night, and witnesses passed the information on to the police who were able to apprehend him. And the images from when he stole the camera — why, they made their way into the video!

Apparently he went to see the stars, and when he saw the cameras standing unattended and grabbed one. This was a lucky instance, but this should act as a reminder to all photographers: Don't leave your gear unattended.

Drowning Pool is a metal band from Dallas, Texas, which currently consists of vocalist Jasen Moreno, guitarist C.J. Pierce, bassist Stevie Benton and drummer Mike Luce. After the release of their debut album,Sinner, vocalist Dave “Stage” Williams died in 2002 from heart disease. Jason Jones replaced Dave in 2003, which recorded one album, Desensitized, but left in 2005 due to irreconcilable differences. Ryan McCombs of SOiL later replaced Jason and released two albums, Full Circle and Drowning Pool. A new episode of Off Book delves into how colors influence people

PBS' web-series Off Book has been at the forefront of online, educational, and geeky programming for the last few months. They've delved into indie video games, internet fandom, glitch art, and more. The most recent episode just went live, and it's a compelling and brief introduction to color.

Delving into color theory, physical and psychological responses to color, color preferences through history and more, it's a lot of information in under eight minutes. They talk to Thomas Bosket of the Parsons the New School for Design, Leslie Harrington of the Color Association, Doty Horn of the Fashion Institute of Technology, and GIF makers Mr GIF.
